The Hospital bill is for Anesthesia related medications and supplies. The Anesthesiologist’s bill is completely separate. The Anesthesiologist’s bill is for his/her time spent with you before, during, and after your surgery. A base charge for the actual surgical procedure is also included in the Anesthesiologist’s bill.

You may see an additional charge on the bill you receive from the Anesthesiologist if you are a high risk patient, or if your surgery is an emergency case.

If you are thinking about having surgery in the near future and would like an estimate on what the Anesthesiologist’s charges will be, please call the billing office during regular business hours.
